Herbert Stampede officially came into being in 1987 ... since that time it has gown into one of the most popular rodeos in Saskatchewan.

A spokesman for the Herbert Rodeo Club says that, " years ago, we started with a small amateur event. I think we had twenty-seven years of that and one day a few of the guys said 'lets go to a sanctioned Canadian Cowboys Association rodeo', so we moved to Herbert and I guess it has been going good ever since."

The rodeo isn't the only thing happening during the stampede.

The Committee adds, "As usual, this long weekend with the rodeo, there is a lot of reunions, homecomings and stuff like that going on. They kind of make it happen the same weekend."
